Consultation
Consultation with clients usually takes about an hour. During this, time we introduce Golden Penguin Studio and tell clients about the importance and benefits of a digital presence. This is the time to talk about your business. We take our time to truly understand who you are and ask questions about the business. Our main task during this time is to brainstorm what is best for your business and bounce ideas for special features.
Strategy
After collecting data we put together a strategy for your business. We decide what will be on the website and why with this information is important. Our team will create your designs and voice based on your target market and brand identity. This strategy is used to have a uniform identity across all media outlets.
Competitive Research
The next step is to find your local competition and see what they have to offer. We go through the user journey of their website and take notes on the usability. The user experience honeycomb is used throughout development to analyze what is useful, desirable, accessible, credible, findable, usable and valuable. We also conduct a SOWT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) on your business. Our team finds data that helps us understand what consumers in your industry are looking for and why.
Design
Design is a huge part of our job. We focus on
user interface (UI) elements, creative guidelines, typography, colors, special features, animation and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
User interface elements include: typography, positive/negative space, symmetrical/asymmetrical balance, grids, illustrations. Typography is the link between the writer and reader, this gives a voice to the text. We use the creative guidelines to make sure we touch on creating drive, building relationships, branding and capturing attention.
Evaluation
We take the time to make sure we hit the target with your vision.
As we bring your project to life we work together and figure out what clients like or don’t. This gives clients the opportunity to be part of the process and learn how small details can create huge differences or see the different features that can be inserted.
